What's on the inside: Whats on the roof:
  • Roof rack built with two steel square tubing attached directly to the metal support beam on the roof. I used rubber washers and lap sealant to seal it all. Click here for lap sealant.

I used a small subpanel as the main panel in this system. They are cheap and small, and handle a lot of current. Because I am feeding 120V and not 240V, I used the yellow 10 gauge wire to feed the second bus bar. This is not required, but if you plan to use all of the circuit breakers in your panel, you will need this added.

This does not satisfy NEC regulations and should be used at your own risk. If you are hesitant, supply only one bus bar instead. That will satisfy NEC. It is assumed that your system is off grid, and does not require code compliance. 

​If you put 2X LV6548's in parallel, then you can feed this small panel with 240V.

I used 4X battleborns because they are a robust battery that works well for high vibration environemnts. They are expensive though, so check out my battery page (Click Here) for cheaper alternatives

Trailer Roof Solar Panel Mounting

I used stainless steel bolts, washers and rubber washers (to seal out rain) to mount two pieces of steel square tubing on the roof.  Self taping screws and z-brackets to mount the panels on the square tubing rails.

​Then I sealed the edges with lap sealant (can be found by clicking here). 

I like to hold the entry gland in place and seal it with eternabond tape (can be found by clicking here).
